How to Write the Introduction and Conclusion In-Person
A good research paper needs to have a strong introduction and conclusion to open and close your presentation. This talk will remind you that, since you are the one who has written the rest of the paper or thesis, you are the ideal of author of its introduction and conclusion. We will go through some effective ways of spending the first and last few minutes of your reader's attention.
This talk is part of the Craft of Research Series. Throughout the spring, we will hold a talk every Thursday afternoon on various aspects of the research and writing process to help you complete your year-end projects. Whether it's your first project or your final master's thesis, there will be something for you in these talks. Each talk lasts approximately one hour, with plenty of time for questions afterwards.
