HPC & Parallel Programming in R

HPC & Parallel Programming in R Online

To utilize the potential of the available HPC resources it is necessary for the user to have the fundamentals of parallel programming and how these are implemented in the programming language of choice.
In this session we will focus on the R - a programming language for statistical computing that is widely used within the scientific community for a broad range of application e.g. machine learning (ML), artificial intelligence (AI) and natural language processing (NLP).

More specifically we will cover:

•    Cover the basic theory of parallel programming.
•    Parallel programming basics within R.
•    Example of parallelization of a ML models using the Tidymodels framework.
•    Set up and run a R script on multi-machine Slurm cluster from UCloud
