SUMMARY:How to Write the Theory Section
DESCRIPTION:Your theory section motivates your choice of theory and frames
your analysis. You are reminding your reader of the standards and concepts
you share as researchers in your chosen field. The theory section is based
on the literature in your discipline and aims to shape the reader's
expectations of your analysis. In this talk\, we'll explore ways to
accomplish this one paragraph at a time.\n\nThe talk is part of the Craft
of Research Series. Throughout the spring\, we will hold a talk every
Wednesday afternoon on various aspects of the research and writing process
to help you complete your year-end projects. Whether it's your first
project or your final master's thesis\, there will be something for you in
these talks. Each talk lasts approximately one hour\, with plenty of time
for questions afterwards.\n\nPlease note that this course may be recorded.
