As researchers, one of our key responsibilities is to contribute academic perspectives that can enrich practice and public debate. Conversations about research impact often emphasize dissemination, for example how to choose the right channels and frame our message effectively. Yet a deeper question remains: how are research insights actually put into use?
Which actors and processes shape the translation of ideas from the academic field to practice? To what extent are insights transformed along the way? Is the original academic work still recognizable once ideas have been adapted and applied, and is our contribution recognized as researchers? Ultimately, what do these dynamics mean for how we should think about impact itself?
These are the questions at the heart of the TITAN project. At the upcoming Research Forum, Eva Boxenbaum and Clara Dyrbye Hansen will present central findings from the project. We will also hear from two of the project’s participants involved in translating paradox leadership theory between the academic and practice fields: Rikke Rønholt Albertsen and Sofie Gottlieb. Finally, we invite discussion on how the project findings can guide practice moving forward—especially our own.
