How to Write a Research Paper In-Person

This is the first colloquium in a series based on the 2025 Craft of Research talks. In this first talk, we will talk about the work of writing a paper, paragraph for paragraph and section for section. This, of course, opens onto any number of issues that students writing their year-end projects may be facing.

The colloquium follows a “flipped” format, where participants are asked to watch the video of last year's talk in advance and come to the session with their questions, comments, and experiences. While each talk will begin with questions related to a particular talk, there is no limit to the topics we can cover other than the time and the interest of the participants.
