Why it matters
The CBS Study Start Test on Academic Integrity was introduced in response to a growing number of plagiarism cases, and findings from a 2018 study showed that approximately one-third of CBS students had little or no understanding of key academic integrity concepts, including plagiarism and self-plagiarism.
Since then, CBS has worked systematically to empower students by strengthening their understanding of integrity in academia.
As of the 2024 summer intake, all CBS students have completed the test, and a follow-up study conducted in 2024 showed a substantial increase in students’ confidence in their academic work, up 24 % from 70% to 94%.
Teaching staff play a crucial role in reinforcing these messages and helping students navigate integrity challenges throughout their academic journey.
Who is it for?
CBS teaching staff who wish to stay updated on academic integrity rules and regulations and to inform discussions about responsible academic practice in their courses.
